Introducing a new career path field to all our jobs
All job postings into the Employer Hub will now require a specific ‘career path’ or ‘role’ field. This change will help you attract more qualified candidates while giving students clearer insights into career opportunities.

Why are we making this change?
Previously, we required all jobs to be tagged with an industry sector, but we realised this didn’t make much sense – the industry information is already clear from the employer profile.
What we didn’t know, however, was the specific career path the job related to.
For example, an employer in the accounting & advisory industry might be hiring software engineers, or a technology company might be hiring accountants. Without role clarity, we couldn’t effectively match opportunities with the right students.
This change delivers three key benefits:
- Better job distribution to students who match your specific role requirements
- Higher quality applications from candidates who understand exactly what the position involves
- Clearer career path visibility for students exploring their options
What do I need to do?
We’ve done our best to map your existing jobs to what we believe are the most appropriate role categories but you may wish to log into the Employer Hub to review this.
Going forward, each job loaded into Prosple must be tagged with a single role or career path. If you post jobs that are general in nature (e.g. “Graduate Program”) that actually encompass multiple career paths, we will require these to be split into distinct job listings.
Our user testing shows that students are often confused about general jobs, since it’s not clear to them what they will actually do on the job. Jobs that describe only one role, on the other hand, get a greater volume of high quality and high intent candidates, because they know exactly what the job is about.
